Art Show that is ‘Not By The Book’ to open at Greenwich Library’s Flinn Gallery
September 15, 2021
GREENWICH — The Flinn Gallery is hosting its first art exhibition since last year, after a closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic and construction at the Greenwich Library.
“Not By The Book” will open with a reception on the evening of Sept. 23 and run through Dec. 8.
This exhibition highlights the work of four artists who celebrate the beauty and materiality of books, according to the organizers.
It also heralds the reopening of the Flinn Gallery after the pandemic and library renovation and welcomes the return of three-dimensional artworks — and visitors — to the space.
Featuring the art of Shiela Hale, Chris Perry, Andrew Sovjani and Erin Walrath, the show invites visitors to look at books in new ways, offering the opportunity to experience books – and their component parts – with visual delight, according to the organizers.
